Computer is machine that performs tasks like calculations or electronic communication, under the control of a set of instructions called a program. Programs usually reside within the computer and are processed by the computer’s electronics. The program results transferred to output devices, such as video display monitors, printers, or sound device. Computers perform activities reliably, accurately, and quickly.
People can use computers in many ways. In business, tracking inventories with bar codes or scanners, check the costumer’s credit status, even transfer funds electronically. In homes, personal computer can use as control the indoor temperature, home security systems, time bell, or playing music or movie. In automobiles, computer can regulate the flow of fuel, and used in anti-theft systems. Computers can use as recording sound, creating multimedia features. Scientist uses computer to solve mathematical problems, investigate complicated data, or make model systems that are too costly to build, such as testing the air flow of aircraft.
Future computer will become more advanced and become easier to use. With speech recognition to operate computer, so it make easier and more private. Virtual reality, the technology that interact computer using human senses, will also create better human and computer interfaces. Virtual reality program languages are currently in use for the World Wide Web.
