A diamond certificate is known as a Diamond Grading Report. This is a report that comes from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and we must require this report when you are purchasing a diamond. In this report you can verify color, cut, carat, weight, and clarity of the diamond. As it comes from the GIA, so you don’t have to worry about everything that diamond dealer telling you but the truth.
You have to pay for low cost for the certificate, and in many cases, it will help you negotiate a better price on the diamond, or keep you from purchasing a bad quality diamond. When we buy a high quality diamond, and then later decide to sell the diamond, it’s easy when we have the certificate, or you will have a hard time selling it. Furthermore, you can use the Diamond Grading Report to find the wholesale value of the diamond in question. Never accept certificates from Gemological Laboratories other than GIA. There are many Gemological labs today, but GIA has been established as the most respectable and trustworthy of the lot. So avoid dealers that doesn’t use GIA for certification purposes as well.
